What’s the origin of the desert boot model?
The Desert Boots were designed by Nathan Clark in 1949. The British Army soldiers felt the necessity to wear soft and comfortable shoes and therefore Clark drew inspiration from the shoes that the soldiers had on in their free time.
How are the Patrizio Dolci Desert Boots manufactured?
Patrizio Dolci manufactures the Desert Boots with three different outsoles, according to the customer’s request.
- Leather, lightweight and flexible outsole.
- Crepe rubber, water-repellent and water resistant outsole.
- EVA outsole, a lightweight but at the same time resistant material.
What are their technical aspects? (specific seams, soles, employed leather etc.)
The Patrizio Dolci Desert Boots feature a handcrafted construction method, known as Ideal, used for high quality footwear. The upper is set with its outer edges firmly sealed and pressed on the leather insole and then stitched through a sewing machine called Rapid.
To this end, the sewing thread is passed in a boiler full of hot melt glue in order to ensure a better shoe impermeability.
